Reiki (ray key) is a gentle, simple and powerful healing art. It was developed by Mikao Usui in Japan in the early 1900's, but common belief is that it is an ancient art that was re-discovered. Reiki works in a holistic way to help bring energetic balance to the body and is a valuable tool for health maintenance, relaxation and stress reduction. It has been shown to relieve pain and emotional distress, as it works on both the physical and mental energy of the body. It is recognized as a valid complimentary therapy to patients in many hospitals and is being offered in select VA hospitals to veterans with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Reiki therapy is safe for all ages and also works well on animals.

During a session the Reiki practitioner taps into what is referred to as Universal Energy. This energy flows to the recipient as the practitioner uses different hand placements to facilitate its movement. The recipient may experience sensations such as heat, tingling, or energy movement. Most enter a state of very deep relaxation. The best way to understand what Reiki is, is to experience it for yourself, to come feel it.

Las Vegas is my hometown, my family has been here for several generations. I left it to live a very different lifestyle far from the city for almost half of my life. It was in Canada that I became very interested in Reiki, after hearing that it had helped a friend. I found that it fell right into place with my other interests and that it could be kept simple, in harmony with my philosophy. I am very grateful to have received my Reiki Master Teacher training in Canada and to be able to share it back home here in the Las Vegas valley.
